Project planning
Project management is often overlooked in today’s world of fast paced development and tight budgets but it can be the crucial factor between a successful delivery and expensive and time consuming delays. By actively identifying and addressing issues as they arise, most technical and political problems can be mitigated before they become show stoppers. Accurate and timely status reports not only inform management of progress, but keep them in the loop when delays occur, allowing them to reallocate resources to address the issues.
SENA uses a pyramid as its model for predicting project success. Probability of project success is measured by a pyramid's altitude, and four production factors:
- Scope
- Quality
- Speed
- Frugality (or limits on resources)
These form the four sides of the base. A high-risk project will have a low probability of success and a low altitude. A low-risk project will have a high probability of success and a higher altitude.
