Entitlements
The business problem of managing fine-grained access control - also known as entitlements - to applications and data in an enterprise is not a new one. However, due to recent regulatory and auditory pressures, it has become a challenge that has to be effectively and efficiently dealt with. Corporations have also realized that— in order to prevent unauthorized access to system and data, keeping track of and managing levels of access on a regular basis is critical. The traditional approach of managing fine-grained access control— which was to embed access control logic in applications— is proving to be very costly when it comes to meeting maintenance, updates and regulatory requirements.
The new approach of externalizing fine-grained access control policies from the business logic in applications is gaining traction and is promising to solve the major business problem associated with this domain.
Evaluating, assessing current state, coming up with a strategy and implementing a solution based on the many vendor offerings is not a trivial task and needs a lot of expertise and careful planning.
SENA has been working in the entitlements marketplace since its inception and has a rich history of the solutions ranging from custom developed solutions to vendor products.
SENA Principals were involved with the very first set of authorization solutions developed in the financial services industry. We have helped a number of clients identify requirements, evaluate products and design, develop and customize implementations. Our engineers and architects have received advanced training from vendors and have extensively utilized the products in POC/live deployments for customers and in developing custom solutions in our engineering lab.
By virtue of this long association, SENA has developed a comprehensive authorization practice. The practice has developed a broad deck of education material for IAM & Entitlements Concepts plus product specific trainings. SENA can help customers at an early stage of architecture & strategy on how entitlements fit within their IAM strategy, educating and training their architects & developers and in deploying entitlements solutions.
