SENA Announces its CMMI Level 3 Implementation Initiative

SENA enhances its ability to deliver projects with world class level defined repeatable and measurable processes

EDISON, NJ, November 18, 2008  SENA Systems Inc, the leading Identity and Access Management Systems delivery organization announced today that effective immediately all projects implemented in conjunction with its offshore Pune resources will be using enhanced processes to deliver all new projects as a part of its CMMI 3 initiative.


This is an important milestone in our ability to deliver world class systems to our customers.  By embracing the CMMI guidelines we gain much tighter control of our delivery, ensure that quality delivery is something that is repeatable for all of our projects and mark to market our ability against a world standard.”, said Robert Levine, Chief Executive Officer of SENA.

SENA has been working with an external consulting organization for the past year to ensure that we were properly and rigorously guided through the process creation and revision phase.  This work is now complete and the processes are being rolled throughout all projects in the coming 3 months.   SENA is expecting to perform its SCAMPI appraisal cycle in Q2 2009.

SENA has appointed an SEPG (Software Engineering Process Group) comprising of senior members representing different aspects of Software Development/Services projects.

The SEPG will have the mandate from senior management in the firm to ensure that the Technical, Operational, Project Management and SQA functions are carried out in accordance with the CMMI guidelines”, said Rajnish Roy, Delivery Manager in charge of SENA’s Pune operations.  “This group has been deeply involved in the process definition and will be continuously involved in the enforcement and improvement of the processes.

The guidelines will be used by our global delivery team of US based and India based resources.

This will further streamline the interactions within our global delivery team and ensure high quality delivery for all of our customers.”, said Peter Brannigan, US Delivery Manager for SENA. “It increases our ability to deliver systems that are not just functionally sound but are also well documented and maintainable.”
